Before the draft even started, Roger Goodell played the role of villain pretty well. Goodell stepped up to the podium to a chorus of boo’s and chants of “we want football” from the fans who showed up to watch the NFL Draft at The Radio City Music Hall. Goodell responded with 3 rounds of “I hear ya,” before the crowd quieted for a moment of silence for the victims of the storms in the South. It was good to see things put in perspective for the moment of silence. All in all Goodell handled it as well as possible.
The chants and boo’s were heard. Goodell tweeted minutes after the following message to the upset fans:
