Rickie Fowler had the perfect response to everyone who considered him overrated just a few months ago.
Sports Illustrated and Golf.com published a poll back in May asking PGA Tour players who they believed to be the most overrated golfer. Rickie Fowler and Ian Poulter topped the list, and Fowler won the Players Championship shortly afterward.
After winning the Deutsche Bank Championship on Monday, he had a statement for everyone who voted him most overrated.
“I want to be the best player in the world at some point,” Fowler said. “But, yes, being called overrated, I won three times, so thanks for the poll, I guess.”
He then proceeded to buy champagne for the media. What a guy.
Champagne @RickieFowler. Bought this for the media after his @DBChampionship win. Thanks! pic.twitter.com/0t2hLhFvi8
