This cop did not have time for high school players fighting.
In a game between Canyon Springs and Clark County, aggressions escalated to the point where a district police officer had to use pepper spray to break up a fight between the two school’s football squads.

Unfortunately, some innocent bystanders were hit with the pepper spray, such as coaches trying to break up the brawl.
While you might not agree that pepper spraying high schoolers is the solution to breaking up the fight, it wasn’t like the kids were on their best behavior. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, more than 35 penalties were accessed, a majority of which were for unsportsmanlike conduct.
“Referees assessed at least 35 penalties, most of which were after the play for personal fouls or unsportsmanlike conduct. Four Canyon Springs players were ejected in the second half, including star quarterback/running back DiaMante Burton.”
Unless there’s more to this story, pepper spraying the group appears to be a perfectly reasonable reaction for the cop. Things could have escalated and people could have been seriously injured. Instead, they were temporarily stopped, ending the brawl.
