Darko Milicic’s kickboxing career did not start off the way that he probably envisioned.
The former second overall pick in the NBA Draft and subsequent bust retired from pro basketball in 2013. He has since taken up kickboxing and he recently finished his first official kickboxing match.
It ended in a loss but it was the way that Milicic lost that was kind of noteworthy (and sorta gory).
Milicic was holding his own against Radovan Radojcic when he sustained a cut on his leg during the second round of the match. The wound (a surprisingly deep one) wouldn’t stop bleeding and the match was called with Milicic earning the loss.
When he wasn’t spilling blood everywhere, Darko looked like his size would be a problem for any fighter he could possibly face.
After the match, Darko seemed unperturbed about his kickboxing debut loss.
“The next time, it will be better. I’m invincible.”
Mr. Invincible sports now a 0-1 record as a professional kickboxer.
