On Sunday evening, the United States Men’s National Team is set to play its first game of the Copa America soccer tournament against Bolivia. But there seems to be a lot of confusion about when the game will actually kick off thanks to some apparent deception from Fox, the network that will be broadcasting the event.
As Awful Announcing pointed out on social media on Sunday afternoon, Fox has been advertising the upcoming matchup between the USMNT and Bolivia as beginning at 5 p.m. But that’s not when the game actually begins, that’s just when the network’s pregame coverage of the game actually begins.
The game will not begin until 6 p.m. – an hour after Fox listed in its advertising.
PSA-
Fox is purposely being inconsistent on communicating tonight’s USMNT kickoff time. It’s 6PM ET if you’re not trying to watch an hour of pregame.

Needless to say, this lie from Fox did not go over well with sports fans as the network got absolutely blasted for its dishonesty.
Classic Fox

Fox has long been the worst offender on fudging on start times. Other networks play this game but usually to the tune of 15-20 minutes max.
Fox will do this in some instances (like today) where they’ll insinuate game being a full hour earlier than actual start time. https://t.co/c2x8NO6O5S

Don't know why it's so hard to say:
Build-up from 5 💬
Kick-off at 6 ⚽Someone you deceive to tune in at 5 isn't going to stick around an hour for your panel chat if they just want to see the game. https://t.co/JKaAk0tDKR

They’ve done the same thing with Euros unfortunately.
Nobody is trying to watch any more of Alexi Lalas than they have to. https://t.co/S0u2iuj2Ou

Clearly, people were not at all happy with this attempted deception from Fox.
