Former Notre Dame football head coach Lou Holtz has not been shy about sharing his political views as of late, frequently discussing the upcoming 2024 presidential election on his podcast, The Lou Holtz Show, as of late.
Holtz hasn’t exactly made it a secret where he leans politically, oftentimes sharing his conservative views on his show. So as you may expect, he yet again praised presidential candidate Donald Trump on his show Wednesday.
“The thing about Donald Trump, and I know him pretty well, play golf with him. He’s honest, he’s caring, he’s an outstanding person,” said Holtz. “He’s as personable as anybody in the world. Yeah, you may not like some of his tweets, and I don’t either, but I love the man, and I would go to the end of the Earth in order to help him.”
Holtz also discussed Trump’s vice presidential pick, J.D. Vance, who the former head coach is also a fan of because of their shared ties to the Ohio State Buckeyes.
“I’m a big fan of President Trump, and I always have been, because of things he believes in,” Holtz added. “Yesterday, he announced the wonderful vice President, the pick of J.D. Vance. Now, being an Ohio boy and having been a coach at Ohio State and having him graduate from there, that’s always exciting. I know he’ll do great things for the country.”
Holtz is very clearly all aboard the Trump bandwagon, which seems to be only gaining steam. At the moment, Trump can be found as high as a -300 favorite in the current presidential betting odds to regain the presidency.
