Donald Trump wants the Republican Party to make its pitch to blue-collar workers during the national convention in Milwaukee.
The Trump campaign tapped two employees from Trump’s world-renowned golf resorts to do so.
John Nieporte, the head pro at Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, spoke alongside the likes of Teamsters president Sean O’Brien and vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance.
“John worked his way up from an assistant golf pro and Donald Trump’s caddie to become the head golf pro at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach,” a Republican press release declared, according to The Daily Beast.
“John has tried to qualify for the U.S. Open ‘more than 20 times,’ and it started with his boss, Trump, pushing him to concentrate on his game and follow his golf dreams.”
Nieporte is the son of professional golfer Tom Nieporte. According to various media reports, Nieporte began his golf career by picking up trash at Trump International in Florida.
The younger Nieporte went on to caddy for the future president.
“It’s lucky, being in the right place at the right time,” Nieporte told the Daily Beast.
Carrie Ruiz, the golf general manager at Trump National Doral, also spoke at the convention, where she highlighted how much effort and love Trump pours into his properties.
