As the United States Women’s Gymnastics team was preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, they received some harsh criticism from one former member of the team. And after Team USA won the team gold medal at the Olympics on Tuesday afternoon, Team USA legend Simone Biles wasted no time in clapping back.
Earlier this month, McKayla Skinner called out Team USA for their lack of talent and their work ethic, saying the talent “isn’t what it used to be” and that “a lot of girls just don’t work as hard.”
“Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t what it used to be. I mean, obviously, a lot of girls don’t work as hard. The girls just don’t have the work ethic,” Skinner said earlier this month. “A lot of girls don’t work as hard.”
Obviously, Team USA made Skinner eat her words as they won the gold medal. And shortly after receiving the hardware, Biles took to social media where she did not hold back from calling out her former teammate with a not-so-subtle jab.
“Lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions,” Biles wrote in the caption of her Instagram post – a clear shot at Skinner.
Clearly, the group proved Skinner wrong. And Biles let her know about it.
