Mike Eruzione is very much a straight man, but not according an oblivious UConn professor. The captain of the 1980 United States Winter Olympics hockey team was listed among a FAKE list of professional athletes from FAKE website The Onion in May 2013.
As any good scholar in academia would do, the irresponsible UConn professor conducted research for his Gender/Sexuality Equality in Sports lecture and stumbled across the FAKE list from the FAKE website. Apparently that was all the research he did conduct and decided to throw Mike Eruzione’s name in his presentation on openly gay athletes.
