Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid may be tearing up the NHL and wreaking havoc on anyone that gets in his way but it is his team’s owner that is making headlines.
Daryl Katz, the owner of the Oilers as well as other sports franchises in the Edmonton area has bought the most expensive house in Los Angeles history. Katz bought the home for $120 million dollars. You read that right. $85 million for the house itself and an additional $35 million for the contents inside. He buys the house from realtor Kurt Rappaport who is both listing and selling the house.
The home sits on six acres, it has a 168-foot long pool and was recently seen in the Tom Ford movie “Nocturnal Animals.” The house was never reportedly for sale and Katz had been leasing the house for $750k a month before putting in an offer.
The 20,000 square foot home looks over the sea and is a one-of-a-kind home. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Katz would be interested. He has a reported net worth of $3.5 billion and as of 2017 is the 12th richest man in all of Canada.
