He may lurk in the shadows, but Brendan Shanahan sees your dumb tweets…and he’s not afraid to make you pay.
Before Thursday night, Shanahan hadn’t tweeted or retweeted anything since April 7th – four days before he left his position as the NHL’s director of player safety to become president of the Toronto Maple Leafs. But, after an idiotic troll called him out during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Shanahan broke his silence to push a single ‘Retweet’ button.
Aside from fact that Shanahan played two seasons as a member of the New York Rangers, the tweet is hilarious because this dude is clearly clueless that Shanny is no longer the league’s lead disciplinarian. Instead, he’s disciplining Internet trolls by exposing their ignorance with the push of a button, and Steve Smith just felt the weight of the Shanaban hammer.
