Let’s be real. Pretty much all political cartoons are awful. From the often shoddy and purposefully ugly caricatures to the huge over-use of text to hammer home fairly obvious (and often strawman) points, the “art-form” somehow gets worse when political cartoonists try to commentate on other current events.
With everyone so heavily focused on the PSI levels of the Patriots’ AFC Championship Game footballs, it was inevitable that hordes of political cartoonists would test their creative skills on the subject. The results are predictably pig-headed, obtuse and they often put professional hot-takers to shame.
