Fans and pundits were concerned about Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s production after his start to the season was slower than everyone had become accustomed to. Many even wondered if his partying lifestyle with pop sensation Taylor Swift was responsible for him losing a step or two.
All such concerns have been put to bed. The Chiefs played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night and Kelce finished the game with 14 catches, his career high for a single game. Now, there’s even more context to the remarkable feat.
“Travis Kelce is just the first 35+ year old with 14+ catches in a game *at any position*,” reported ESPN’s Benjamin Solak on Twitter, meaning Kelce is the oldest player ever to snag 14 receptions.

Fans reacted to the remarkable feat online.
“Been saying for years when hes done being Kelce he can still get 2 or 3 years as a Witten type TE, I think current Kelce is still better than Wittens best,” one fan said on Twitter.
“Rare ‘can’t believe Jerry rice didn’t do this’ stat,” another fan added.
“Him and Hopkins are the ultimate “unc still got it” duo they just need a Calais Campbell trade to complete the trio,” one fan added.
“He did it against a defense that will go down as a bottom 5 of all time,” one fan added.
“As a 38 year old, I feel this tweet in my bones,” one fan added.
Even at his advanced age, it’s clear Kelce can play in the league as long as he wants, at least if Taylor lets him.
