The backlash from Sunday’s controversial call in the Packers-Cowboys game has been fierce, as expected, but one Texas politician is taking it a step further than a few unkind words. Jonathan Strickland, Republican State Representative in District 92 in Texas, is so fussy with the call that he is apparently attempting to lay the hammer on head official Gene Steratore.
Despite NFL VP of Officiating Dean Blandino confirming the correct call was made, Strickland is furious with Steratore. The call to ban either Steratore, Blandino or anyone else as a result of the call is ludicrous but to ban the guy that supposedly got the call right? Strickland may very well be kidding and will not ultimately pursue banning Steratore but the notion is pure idiocy.
