Carolina Panthers v Minnesota Vikings

In the wake of serious heat around the Minnesota Vikings for their decision to reinstate Adrian Peterson, Nike announced that all merchandise related to him have been yanked from their shelves. As of this afternoon you can still purchase the embattled running back’s jersey on their website and through other retailers.

The decision comes less than 24 hours after the Vikings decision on his availability for Week 2. Radisson Hotels previously elected to suspend their partnership with the organization, issuing the following statement upon doing so:

Radisson takes this matter very seriously particularly in light of our long-standing commitment to the protection of children. We are closely following the situation and effective immediately, Radisson is suspending its limited sponsorship of the Minnesota Vikings while we evaluate the facts and circumstances.

The team is clearly feeling the repercussions that come with allowing him to continue playing this season despite an indictment on charges of child abuse.
