The Kansas City Chiefs will bring back their Super Bowl hero. Earlier Thursday, reports emerged that the Chiefs will re-sign wide receiver Mecole Hardman.
Hardman, who didn’t start last season on the Chiefs, landed back with the team after he began the year with the New York Jets. As it turned out, that move led to great fortune. Hardman eventually wound up at the right place at the right time in Las Vegas this past February. He scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime to propel his Chiefs over the San Francisco 49ers.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the deal between the Chiefs and Hardman is for one more year.

After playing at the University of Georgia, the Chiefs drafted Hardman in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He’s recorded 166 career receptions, 2,212 career receiving yards, and 16 career touchdowns. Though, 2023 was his worst season statistically, as he finished the year with zero touchdowns and just 124 yards.
But Hardman likely won’t be asked to do much once again this year. Especially if the way last season ended is any indication. He just needs to be in the right place at the right time.
