The Chicago Bears have a big decision to make this offseason regarding starting quarterback Justin Fields as they decide whether to bring him back after a much-improved season or go in a different direction at quarterback. But regardless of what happens, it sounds like Fields is content with what he has shown on the field this season.
During his postgame press conference following Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers, Justin Fields made it clear that he is pleased with the way he performed and worked this season, regardless of what the team ultimately decides to do at the quarterback position.
“I gave it my all,” Fields said according to Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times. “Whether here or not, I have no regrets.”
Fields improved in essentially every passing statistic across the board this season and had the team performing well, particularly at the end of the season. And he could feel that improvement and confidence in himself.
‘‘I’m headed up,’’ Fields said. ‘‘I felt growth this year each and every game. I’ve been feeling it, really, since I got back from injury. I’ve gotten better tremendously.”
The Bears currently hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft via the Carolina Panthers. We’ll have to see whether the team uses that pick on a quarterback and replaces Fields, or whether they decide to keep Fields and build around him for the future.
