Jim Harbaugh Detroit Free Press

The Chicago Bears are in the midst of yet another disappointing season, but it sounds like a change in leadership for the team might be just around the corner.

During a recent appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic said that the Chicago Bears “have had conversations” about potentially hiring Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh if the team decides to part ways with current head coach Matt Eberflus.

“The Chicago Bears have had conversations about possibly hiring Jim Harbaugh if they decide to fire Matt Eberflus, per @DMRussini on @TheHerd,” Chicago sports analyst Daniel Greenberg said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this would be a massive move for the team, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media.

Harbaugh is currently in the middle of an undefeated season with Michigan and is likely on the verge of a third consecutive trip to the College Football Playoff, but he and the team could be facing sanctions from the NCAA as a result of an investigation into an alleged illegal sign-stealing scheme.

If that’s the case, it might make sense for Harbaugh to try to move to the NFL.
