Robert Griffin III has had such bad luck with injuries, that we’ve reached a point where “RG III may not miss the rest of the season” is somehow a cause for relief. However, after RG III was forced to leave Sunday’s game against the Jaguars with a serious ankle injury, it wasn’t clear if that was the end of Griffin’s 2014 campaign.

Luckily for Griffin, it appears that the ankle injury is just a dislocation and not a fracture:

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III said an MRI Monday morning revealed no fracture in his dislocated left ankle, fueling optimism that he could return this season.

Griffin called the MRI “positive news” and said had he needed surgery, he would not have returned to the Redskins Park facility. However, Griffin said he still is uncertain about how much time he will miss because of the dislocation suffered in Sunday’s 41-10 win over Jacksonville.

He said the MRI results were sent to Dr. Robert Anderson. After Anderson reads the results, the Redskins will have a better idea of Griffin’s recovery period.

Unluckily for Griffin and everyone who doesn’t really care to hear that much about Washington, Kirk Cousins played very well in relief of Griffin so get ready for a dumb quarterback controversy that you’ll be sick of within a day of RG III being cleared to play football again.
