During their pregame show, ESPN highlighted the fact that Jamaal Charles was returning, an understandable thing to highlight because Charles is pretty much the most important player on the Chiefs offense (sorry Alex). Less understandable is why they chose to use a picture of Kendrick Lewis (shown above) from last season (he currently plays for the Texans) to showcase Charles’ return.
Even if one, for some reason, can’t recognize faces, you think someone would have recognized the “23” on the shoulder pad there. Lewis wore 23 for the Chiefs last year. Charles wears 25. Also, as Rodger Sherman of SB Nation points out, “Charles doesn’t typically wear eye black, which Lewis does.”
