DeAndre Hopkins is a great football player, but he might be an even better person.
The Houston Texans wide receiver announced on Twitter he is donating his entire paycheck from his upcoming Wild Card round playoff game to the family of Jazmine Barnes, a 7-year-old who was shot and killed in Texas this weekend.

Jazmine and her mother, LaPorsha Washington, who survived the incident, were shot at by a seemingly random man who pulled up his truck next to the family and shot at them. Jazmine was sadly killed, while three of her sisters were injured from shattered glass.
The killer hasn’t yet been identified. Activist Shaun King is offering a $100,000 reward for tips that lead to their arrest.

Hopkins donating his entire weekly earnings is bigger than football. He sees his own daughter in Jazmine and wants to help out a family navigating through an unimaginable tragedy. Hopkins should be commended. It’s an incredible gesture.
Hopkins’ Texans face Indianapolis on Saturday in the NFL Wild Card.
