Over the past few weeks, Pittsburgh Steelers superstar defensive tackle Cameron Heyward has left the door open for a possible departure from the team if he does not get a new contract this offseason. But it doesn’t sound like that’s necessarily what he wants to happen.

Earlier this week, Cameron Heyward revealed that he and his wife had talked about the possibility that he could finish his career with another team if contract negotiations did not go well with the Steelers. He even threw out the rival Cleveland Browns as a possibility of where he could sign if he did leave Pittsburgh. But that’s not the plan.

In a social media post on Sunday, Heyward had a pretty clear message to the Steelers and their fans as he revealed that his “goal” is to remain with the team for the remainder of his playing career.

“The goal is to be a Steeler for the rest of my career…… anyways on a more important front happy Father’s Day yall,” Heyward said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Of course, this will still require the two sides working out a contract extension. We’ll have to see what happens in that regard.
