The Denver Broncos selected former Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix with the No. 12 overall pick in the NFL Draft in hopes that he could become the team’s next starting quarterback after the team released Russell Wilson during the offseason. And it sounds like Nix has sought the help of a legendary NFL quarterback to try to make that happen.
Bo Nix said that he has been working out with longtime NFL quarterback Phillip Rivers this offseason as he attempts to prepare himself for the NFL. And it sounds like he has already learned a lot from the retired NFL quarterback.
“He has a lot of knowledge, a lot more than I have,’’ Nix said of Rivers according to ESPN. “Just his willingness was impressive; he didn’t have to do that.’’
Nix and Rivers are both from Alabama, and it sounds like he has been very generous in his efforts to help the young quarterback.
Obviously, it’s not always easy for a quarterback to transition from the college level to the NFL, but it seems like Rivers is helping make sure that transition goes as smoothly as possible for Nix.
We’ll have to see how their work together pays off.
