Former Detroit Lions superstar running back Barry Sanders is one of the most iconic and legendary players ever to play the game, and it sounds like he is facing a pretty concerning situation regarding his health.
On Friday, Barry Sanders announced in a statement that he suffered “a health scare” related to his heart last weekend. While he did not share the specifics of his health concern, he did indicate that he will now be spending time prioritizing his health and well-being.
“Over Father’s Day weekend, I experienced a health scare related to my heart. It was unexpected and served as a reminder of the importance of staying vigilant about our physical well-being, even when we are feeling fine,” Sanders said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
“I am grateful for the amazing doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals for providing me with needed care. My family and I are thankful for your prayers and support during this time,” Sanders continued. “Per my doctors’ recommendation, I am taking this opportunity to prioritize my health and well-being. I appreciate your understanding and continued support.”
Obviously, it’s pretty terrible news that Sanders suffered this health scare, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.
