Teams throughout the NFL are in the midst of their mandatory minicamps, which require players to attend or face fines if they choose to skip the team activities. And it sounds like New York Jets star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has decided to take a fine and skip Tuesday’s practice with the team.
According to New York Jets beat writer Brian Costello of the New York Post, Aaron Rodgers was not in attendance for the team’s minicamp on Tuesday.
“Aaron Rodgers is also not here. It is an unexcused absence,” Costello said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Since it was an unexcused absence from the minicamp, Rodgers will be subject to fines, just like any other player. But it seems like Rodgers was aware of that and willing to accept the fines.
During a press conference after practice, New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh revealed that Rodgers decided to skip practice on Tuesday to attend an event that is “important to him,” according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.
Needless to say, Rodgers’ decision to skip Jets practice led to a lot of reactions on social media.
Legit can’t wait to hear about this event. https://t.co/WzGgeA6AW6

Couldn’t care less about Rodgers not being there when he’s attended basically everything else this offseason (gonna be hilarious when it comes out what the event is tho).
The Reddick situation continues to be maddening. No idea what they thought was gonna happen there. https://t.co/jwOGlgaWn5

An absolutely unhinged podcast interview is about to drop https://t.co/5vKLT5mdiH

I sincerely hope he shows up on McAfee and proceeds to talk about how the Jets need to stop with the outside distractions https://t.co/MtrW317Qrj

I took the bullet for everyone and googled when the next RFK event is and it’s not for two days. https://t.co/W9gC43HMhg

I did not get the email about another Capitol Riot today. https://t.co/DLfnLhvEmd

I don't understand why the Jets just wouldn't lie and say it was excused even if it wasn't. Why create any controversy here? https://t.co/rJqEwYiGIl

It’s worth noting that Rodgers has been in attendance for the vast majority of the Jets’ offseason workouts this offseason, even the voluntary workouts.
