The Los Angeles Clippers were knocked out of the playoffs after a Game 7 collapse at the hands of the Houston Rockets but at least they were able to be the subject of a hilarious Craigslist post, amirite?
One fan threw this together in Los Angeles’s “Missed Connections” personal ad section on Craigslist following the Clippers’ loss. Needless to say, it’s glorious.
There are a few great details hidden within all the sadness. The 45 year-old bit is a nice nod to the age of the Clippers franchise. The fact that the only dislike that the “Clippers” have is ex-Clippers owner Donald Sterling is another fantastic touch.
However, nothing beats the last couple of sentences. It’s pure poetry given the context of Game 7.
“You smiled — I thought at me — and it was a smile that went right through my being, that made everything seem perfect, whole and worthwhile. Then, with, like six minutes left to go in the game, I looked up and you were gone.”
Stuff like this is so much better than vandalizing Wikipedia pages.
