The New York Knicks announced that they are purchasing a D-League franchise, to which surprised most because they assume they already are a D-League team. The new franchise will be located in Westchester, New York about 30 minutes outside of New York City. Former player and current assistant general manager, Allan Houston, has been named the general manager of the new D-League team.
The Knicks also announced that fans could help name the new D-League team, which is quite a courageous move considering the atrocious season New York has had. Fans have until March 24 to go to nyknicksdleague.com to submit their potential names. To help the newborn franchise here are some names that they are free to use.
