Dwight Howard can’t help but catch the ire of NBA players and personalities. Earlier this year, people didn’t blink much when he and Kobe Bryant got into a spat because no one expected that meeting to go particularly well.
But then Kevin Durant got into the act of calling out Dwight which was much more noteworthy because Kevin Durant isn’t known for trash-talking much on or off the court at all.
So, of course, the fact that KD reportedly called Dwight a “pussy” led some in the media to ask what it is about Dwight that rubs players the wrong way. And in words that are reminiscent of what Kobe had to say to Dwight earlier this season, Gary Payton, one of the NBA’s all-time best trash-talkers, stated that he thinks Dwight is a “fake” tough guy and that’s why no one can stand him or something.
Did Dwight piss in the NBA’s collective Cheerios? The seemingly consensus disdain for him is a bit baffling from an outsider’s perspective.
