After LeBron James announced that he’d be leaving the Miami Heat to go home and rejoin the Cavaliers in Cleveland, it wasn’t a shock to hear that South Florida basketball fans were pretty upset. After all, Cleveland fans burned James’ jersey and labeled him as a traitor when he spurned them for Miami four years ago.
But it didn’t take too long for that bitterness to go too far in South Beach. One angry fan deface a Miami Heat mural that took a local artist over two years to create, spray painting a black square over what used to be LeBron’s face on the impressive artwork. So far, nobody knows who’s behind the vandalism and it’s probably unlikely the culprit will ever be held accountable.
For all we know, this could be Dwyane Wade’s doing.
