The Red Sox pulled off a hard-fought, 14-inning victory against the Chicago White Sox on the South Side of the Windy City last night. The night prior, the Sox lost a tight game in the ninth inning thanks to a throwing error by rookie shortstop Xander Bogaerts, so it’s understandable that Bogaerts would want to celebrate Thursday night’s big win.
How did he do so, you ask? By tweeting this not long after the final out:
Ummm, okay.
It was only the second time the 21-year old had tweeted since Christmas, so we’ll have to assume it was just an embarrassing mistake by Xander. But, on another note, damn…good for him.
Of course, Bogaerts’ 40,000 followers had some fun with the accidental tweet before Xander deleted it and, ultimately, his entire account.
