Marlon Byrd had one of the oddest scenarios occur that you will ever see on Sunday as his Phillies took on the Mets. Byrd came to the plate in the 6th inning of a 2-2 tie ballgame and swung and missed on a pitch from Jonathan Niese, and during the swing he somehow broke his bat. The bat literally made no contact with the ball, but somehow broke into two pieces.
We are very confused.
