Ballplayers are taught to hustle, swing at anything between the ankles and shoulders, and keep your mouth shut. However, the poor kid that fell victim to one of the worst strike calls in baseball history had every right to drop the hammer on the ump and take his sweet time outside the box.
Watch as the umpire raises his hand nonchalantly for a strike on a pitch that would have hit a left-handed batter. Also notice this occurred with two outs and two men on base in a one run ballgame.
