Semin scored 40 goals and 84 points as a 25-year-old for the Washington Capitals five years ago, but hasn’t come close to those numbers ever since. The Hurricanes gave him a 5-year, $35 million deal, meaning he gets paid more than guys like Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, and Carey Price.
