Longtime Yankees shortstop and captain Derek Jeter announced that the 2014 season would be his last via his Facebook page on Wednesday.
Jeter, who turns 40 in June, will likely enjoy a season-long farewell tour similar to the one we saw Mariano Rivera experience last season. The future Hall of Famer’s illustrious resume includes being a 13x All-Star, 5x Silver Slugger & Gold Glove winner, 5x World Champion, and a member of the 3000 hit club.
