Anthony Rizzo had to exit the ballgame after a massive collision with Brett Wallace at first base in the top of the third inning in a game between the Chicago Cubs and the Houston Astros. Rizzo hit a slow ground ball to second baseman Jimmy Paredes who launched a high throw to Brett Wallace which caused him to jump and in the process his legs nailed a very fast running Rizzo. Trainers were forced to come and attend to Rizzo who ended up getting up and walking off the field with some help.
According to ESPN Chicago:
Chicago Cubs slugger Anthony Rizzo has a sore right shoulder and upper back after a collision with Brett Wallace while running to first base against the Houston Astros…The Cubs are going to monitor Rizzo for the next couple of days, but they believe he will be OK.
