Despite the high aspirations of the Toronto Blue Jays they find themselves out of the playoffs. That means plenty of time to vacation, play golf or for catcher J.P. Arencibia a chance to make a marriage proposal. Arencibia got engaged to the lovely Kimberly Perry, the lead singer of popular country trio The Band Perry.
Arencibia instantly feel in love with Perry when he saw her, in her music video for the song “If I Die Young.” Arencibia managed to get backstage to meet Perry after one of her concerts. That was 20 months ago and on Monday things get serious.
Arencibia and Kimberly visited her parents house in Greeneville, Tenn on Monday. Kimberly’s childhood house featured a large oak tree of which Perry said, “If I get proposed to in this life, I hope it happens underneath this tree.” And under that tree was Arencibia on one knee with a ring.
Congratulations to Arencibia and Perry, hopefully his new fiancee can fix his awful swing that attributed to his atrocious .194 batting average.
