World, meet Tony. Tony Cingrani, a 23-year old rookie phenom for the Cincinnati Reds, was given the ball today in an effort to squelch the Washington Nationals and their quest for a four game sweep. Mr. C obliged with a gem. Cingrani left after the sixth giving up only two hits while recording 11 wiffle-ball strikeouts (including four K’s in the 4th). Three innings later, the Reds made it official with a 5-2 victory over the Neon Hulk and the rest of the Nats. Cingrani now sports a video game-like 28:4 strikeout-to-walk ratio and will certainly crack the fantasy baseball Most Added list in the days to come. So, if you want to impress your uncle or co-worker with a pick-up, here’s your opportunity. One last thing, if you are a Reds fan, do your best to keep him a secret from Dusty Baker.
