In 1992 Arrested Development released their first album, 3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of… To this day the group is probably best known for “Tennessee” and “Mr. Wendal,” but my favorite of their songs was “People Everyday,” which sampled Sly & the Family Stone’s 1969 hit “Everyday People.”
While not officially a part of the band, the lead vocals on “Tennessee” and “People Everyday” were performed by Dionne Farris, who had a major pop hit as a solo artist in 1995 with “I Know.”
