According to a ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Denver Broncos and John Fox have “mutually agreed” to part ways.
Fox had help lead Denver to four straight divisional titles in the AFC West and the Broncos went 46-18 during his tenure. The team also reached the Super Bowl once (of course, having Peyton Manning for most of that time helped bolster Fox’s resume in some ways).

The Broncos are bound to undergo a whole lot of change quickly. If the team wishes to keep things in-house, Jack Del Rio and Adam Gase are viable head coaching candidates. Of course, the fate of the Broncos’ upcoming season will largely hinge on whether Peyton Manning opts to retire. However, it doesn’t appear as if John Elway and the Broncos are willing to sit around and wait for Manning to make up his mind if their decision to “mutually” part ways with John Fox is any indication.
On Sunday following the Broncos’ 24-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, this is what Fox had to say about his job status as the Broncos head coach:
“I don’t make those decisions, I don’t control that. My intentions are to be a Denver Bronco and have been since I got here.”
