On Tuesday, the World Video Game Hall of Fame announced its first fifteen finalists for its inaugural class of games.
While the selection criteria appears to be pretty hazy as of now (it isn’t even known how many of these finalists will end up being inducted), the collection of games that are up for consideration represent a wide swath of video game history and genres. Everything from Pokemon to (sigh) Angry Birds could end up in the new Hall of Fame.
Without a doubt, every single one of these titles has greatly influenced the entire industry. Some for the better (Mario!). Some for the worse (*cough damn birds *cough).
