A player for Hugo (Okla.) High School scored the absolute worst game-winning shot ever last night during the Oklahoma boys’ 3A playoffs.
Down by one, Hugo ran an inbounds play with 3.7 seconds to guard Trey Johnson. Johnson got the ball and drove to the hoop, scoring the game-winner… for the other team. Johnson mistakenly scored the final shot on his own hoop, giving Millwood High the 38-37 victory.
In the background noise of the video you can hear a spectator (who we assume to be the one recording the action) say, “I’m about go get something amazing.” Another spectator says, “on ESPN.” Unfortunately, if this does make its way onto ESPN, it will be for all the wrong reasons.
