Omar comin’, yo.
David Simon’s critically acclaimed series The Wire will be returning to HBO’s airwaves later this month in high definition. All 60 episodes of the Baltimore drug war drama will hit HBO Go on December 26th, then to Digital HD (iTunes, Google Play, Xbox Video, etc.) on January 5th. A complete Blu-Ray series release isn’t expected until next summer.
As was hinted back in September, HBO Signature will be marathoning every episode of the series from December 26th to the 30th.
As someone who owns The Wire box set and has watched the entire series all the way through probably a handful of times, I’m still incredibly excited about the news because 1.) I can never get enough of The Wire, and 2.) it’ll be cool to see it remastered in HD for the first time.
