Gus Johnson might not be calling NCAA Tournament games with CBS anymore but the enthusiastic play-by-play voice is still making it rain with the Big Ten Network. After building a legendary reputation for his dramatic late-game calls during March Madness, Johnson has been forgotten by most fans, especially those with no interest in Big Ten hoops.
Although the stakes are not as high, he continues to bring the heat with big-time yelps and his famous “WOW!” reactions. During Michigan State’s win over Purdue on Wednesday night, Johnson busted out something new and he nailed it. Yes, the veteran broadcaster released his inner Ric Flair after Matt Costello threw down a powerful dunk.
