Ohio State Buckeyes cornerback Denzel Burke decided to return to Ohio State for another season instead of enter the NFL Draft, and it sounds like he has a pretty bold goal in mind after deciding to return.
During an interview last week, Denzel Burke made it clear that the expectation for the team was “Natty or bust,” and said that the Buckeyes aren’t shying away from any pressure.
“Diamonds are built under pressure,” Burke said Thursday according to Eleven Warriors. “We’re not worried about a thing. We trust in our technique, ourselves, our team and our coaches. … No excuses man, we’ve got to win it all. We’ve been trying to preach that every single day.”
Burke revealed that had he entered the NFL Draft, he likely would have been a first or second-round pick, based on the feedback he received. But he felt like he had some unfinished business in Columbus.
“I had a first- or second-round grade, but I had no gold pants, no Big Ten title, no natty. So just being able to come back with my brothers and doing it for the state of Ohio. I’m trying to finish the job this year, that’s the plan,” Burke said.
We’ll have to see whether or not Burke and the Buckeyes can meet this goal.
