College football appears to be headed toward a few changes that will make the college game feel a little more like the NFL game.
According to a report from college football insider Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports, it sounds like college football is set to approve three significant changes to the sport that are already in place in the NFL.
“In a long-expected move, administrators on Friday are expected to finalize a recommendation for the adoption of a player-to-coach helmet communications system, the use of tablets on the sideline as well as in the halftime locker room and a two-minute warning in the college game,” Dellenger wrote for Yahoo Sports on Friday.
While these changes are not finalized just yet, it sounds like it’s only a matter of time before they’re officially approved by the NCAA Division I Council.
“After two days of debate here this week, the NCAA Rules Committee is scheduled to vote on the changes in a recommendation to the NCAA Division I Council, which often rubber-stamps such decisions,” Dellenger wrote.
These are obviously some pretty significant changes coming to college football. We’ll have to see how they affect the college game this upcoming season.
