Lucy Clark already made history in the transgender community when she became the first transgender referee in the English Football Association, and now she’s making history in another way by becoming the first transgender manager in English competitive.

Earlier this year, Lucy Clark made history when she became the new manager of Sutton United Women FC in the fifth-tier London & South East Regional Women’s Premier Division. And it’s clear that it’s an accomplishment she’s wanted for quite a long time, especially as a lifelong supporter of Sutton United.

“It’s a dream come true,” she said in an interview after her first match as manager according to Outsports. “I was managing Sutton on my computer games and now I’m doing it in real life.

“I’m living the dream. I love the club and I love everyone around the club so just to be involved is amazing.”

Obviously, this is landmark moment in sports and Clark made history. As a result, it’s led to a lot of conversation on social media.

Clark is also the founder and player-manager of an inclusive club dedicated to bringing trans and non-binary people into the sport. So she’s clearly doing everything she can to support trans people in the sport.
