Denver mayor Michael Hancock injured himself warming up to honor his wager with Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. The mayors had a bet on the divisional playoff game between the Broncos and Ravens. If If the Broncos had won, Baltimore would have had to light Washington Monument in blue and orange. Denver mayor Michael Hancock’s end of the bet was not only to send some rib-eye steaks to Baltimore, but to also dance like Ray Lewis if the Ravens won.
Being a stand up kind of guy. Mayor Hancock was ready to do the dance but, being a middle-aged man, he needed to warm up a bit before doing the dance. As it turns out, he actually injured himself during warmups.
Says the Denver Post:
“The mayor’s spokeswoman Amber Miller says he was hurt ‘during pre-game warm-ups.’
Hancock is ‘expected to be on the field in the second half, ready to carry out the game plan and fulfill his end of the wager,’ she said.”
Poor, poor Denver. First the game, then McCoy leaves for San Diego, and now this.
