WNBA rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has already established herself as one of the most dominant players in the league during just her first season and has drawn a lot of attention to the WNBA even as a rookie. For that reason, she’s drawing comparisons to some NBA legends.
During a recent interview on OutKick’s “The Ricky Cobb Show,” longtime NBA broadcaster David Aldridge compared Caitlin Clark to some absolute legends and current NBA stars for her ability to “move the needle” and draw new people into the watching the WNBA.
“It’s clear that she moves the needle, right?” he said. “People want to watch her, they want to watch her play. She’s a great player. And I think she is certainly a person that gets attention from casual fans; and, again, that’s kind of the lifeblood of a league that’s really surviving and thriving is when people who aren’t really big basketball fans turn it on anyway because they just want to watch her play because they like watching her play.”

Clearly, Clark has already had a major impact on the WNBA and the sport of women’s basketball. We’ll have to see how that continues.
