After the Los Angeles Clippers lost to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, the Clippers’ Twitter account posted a rather salty tweet to… point out that they weren’t as badly beaten by the Warriors as the Grizzlies were on Monday.
The team eventually deleted the tweet but not before it gained a lot of attention for how bad it was.
On Friday, Clippers coach Doc Rivers was asked for his reaction to his team’s social media mishap and he was decidedly not happy with it.
Doc called #didntloseby50 tweet classless and tasteless.

Doc’s displeasure can’t be surprising. Not only did the tweet highlight the fact that his team did lose to the Warriors, it also managed to draw the ire of Grizzlies players like Tony Allen, a man who you definitely never want to piss off.
Whoever is in charge of their Twitter should be fired. I’ve never seen anybody broadcast losing. Who’s proud of losing — whether it’s by one, two three or 50? Enough said.
The Clippers play the Grizzlies on Monday. That should be a fun game.
