Team USA wrapped up their preliminary action with a 5-1 win against Slovenia on Sunday. Phil Kessel tallied the first three goals for the Americans, giving him a natural hat trick…check out all three scores below.
His first came just over a minute into the first period, when pulled a nifty move around a Slovenian defender to give himself a good look on net.
The second came a few minutes later when Kessel was able to bat a Joe Pavelski pass out of mid-air and into the back of the net. One of the best plays of these Olympics so far.
Kessel + Pavelski: BFFEs.
Finally, the one that sealed the hatty came on a rebound made possible by a JVR deflection in front. All Kessel had to do was finish the job.
America, eff yeah.
